It has been taught by countless masters over countless years: the three essential factors which lead to success in all spiritual pursuits are - practice, practice, and practice. This frustratingly simple truth is as correct today as when it was taught by the first Guru to the first disciple. Shri Raam Institute’s Ten Day Superconscious Meditation Retreats offer the perfect field of skillful practice for today’s serious aspirants.
The structure of our retreats was created thousands of years ago and described in writing by the sage Patanjali as Raja Yoga, the Royal Path. Over the course of ten days, we will systematically introduce and experience practices which address all levels of our being: physical, energetic, mental, emotional, spiritual. Each day builds upon the strong foundation of the preceding day, culminating in four days of silent practices where we skillfully seek to enter into the realm of the Superconscious.
These proven practices are not difficult to learn and begin; our retreats are open to all who have a sincere desire to rise above suffering. Progress on the path, however, is as individual and unique as we are! We must all begin at the beginning! Our retreats are designed to help you progress when it is time to progress and are offered at three levels:
A very special aspect of each Shri Raam Institute Ten Day Superconscious Meditation Retreat is its location. Our retreat locations have been specifically chosen to meaningfully enhance the spiritual practices and maximize the potential for individual success. At each location, the ancient practices and teachings remain the same, but each location provides a complimentary experience, like a carefully chosen spice, which adds a richness and depth to the retreat. For those in need of rejuvination, we offer retreats in conjunction with the powerful healing of Ayurveda. For those who are writers, we offer retreats in conjunction with the powerful practice of guided spiritual Journaling. For those who respond to the natural world, we offer retreats in conjunction with the power practice of contemplative walking in nature.
Come join the team from the Shri Raam Institute of Meditation on this amazing ten day Superconscious Meditation retreat in the sacred Himalayas! Our August 2018 retreat offers the perfect blend of skillful, practical guidance from our team of meditation masters with the therapeutic transformation of guided sacred journalling! You will be renewed in body, breath, mind, and soul!
The Superconscious state of being is known as the fourth state of consciousness; it is Pure Consciousness itself, beyond thinker and beyond thought. Superconsciousness is the experience of the True Self. To attain such a state is indeed challenging, but it is also our true nature, our essence, and it needs only to be uncovered and revealed. The key to opening the door to the Superconscious is: preparation!
“Mastering the Outer Self” is our introductory level Superconscious Meditation retreat. Here we will explore, enjoy, and purify our physical being and the outer layers of the mind through a series of ancient practices that have been tested and proven over the centuries by the Meditation Masters of the Himalayas. Our retreat will progress day by day through the limbs of raja yoga as we systematically prepare ourselves for four days of silence and the practice of Superconscious Meditation!
Our retreat begins with grounding, and establishing clarity of intention for our sacred time together. Contemplative writing on this day will be detoxifying in nature as we explore those practices which will help us eliminate patterns that are not helpful to the ultimate goal of life.
With elimination practices underway, we will then turn to the purification practices and affirming journalling which cultivate the qualities that are beneficial and essential on the path - contentment, devotion, surrender - and we will begin appreciate the depths to which relaxation can take us.
Cleansed and purified, we now learn to create stillness, we create ease, we release all effort, and allow our minds to expand into the infinite. The focus of our writing on this day will be the removal of that which blocks us from infinite stillness.
On day four we turn from the outer world to the inner, learning to ride on the wave of infinite energy which is flowing within our very breath. Here we begin mastery of our inner states, bringing an end to stress and rule of emotions. Our writing on day four will focus on creating fluidity.
With the fifth day we move deeper inside, exploring the practices which free us from the distracted external world which is ruled by the senses. Our journaling this day will draw us gracefully and purposefully toward the inner self which is the abode of infinite peace.
The sixth day will bring us focus as we engage with practices to create a one-pointed mind. Our writing will explore the many facets of the mind and the power of intention. This will complete our preparations.
Now, well prepared, we move skillfully into silence, we move toward the Superconscious, toward our true nature. These final days will be quiet but rich and full. Journalling will continue, but will be performed in silence as will our daily practices as you gather all of the skills you have learned into the harmonious support of life’s most exquisite spiritual practice - meditation - and the quest for the highest state of consciousness.
*Our retreat will end with the breaking of silence, a time of sharing, and lunch on the 10th day.
