This year we will humbly seek to deepen our connection with the Divine Feminine. In our meditations, our ceremonies, our satsang talks, and our temple visits, we will explore Her primordial essential nature.
In all of life’s serious endeavours, certainly for spiritual endeavours, it is important to come as close as possible to the source of wisdom, for it is only there that true purity exists, only there that unconditioned knowledge is experienced. This is why, as devotees of the Himalayan Masters, we make a pilgrimage to the Himalayas every year … to return to the Source. The power of this pilgrimage is such that the only words to capture it are: Beyond Imagination.
This will be the 24th year that Pandit Dabral has been leading spiritual tours in the Himalayas. With his depth of scriptural knowledge, practical experience, and a team of professionals, you will experience India as few people do. Our spiritual tours are open to all who wish to sincerely experience sacred India!
"We have been leading Spiritual Pilgrimages in the Himalayas since 1996!"
Here are some images from our past tours.
The 2019 Pilgrimage Beyond Imagination Includes:
Shri Swami Rama of the Himalayas founded the Sadhana Mandir ashram in 1966 on the banks of the sacred Ganges (Ganga) River. Sadhana Mandir has been a refuge for aspirants and devotees ever since, hosting countless numbers of Sadhus and Saints. To simply be in this space and feel its comforting embrace is like coming home, even if you have never visited before. Here we will have time for rest, time to visit Rishikesh, time for practical needs such as exchanging money, time to begin your spiritual journey!
Our immersion into the Himalayas begins only a short distance from Rishikesh as we follow the Ganga to its spiritual source. Here we will enjoy the beauty of this ancient village, meeting the priests and holy ones who have dedicated their lives to the divine nature of these waters, and experiencing the transforming dimensions of sacred ritual with a fire offering overlooking this holy confluence.
Our journey from Rishikesh to Badrinath will offer us opportunities to visit some of the temples and shrines that make the Himalayas spiritually unique in all the world. The ancient Tungnath Temple is one of these gems. This temple is the highest Shiva temple in the world and a spiritual mecca for thousands of pilgrims each year. The 8.6 kilometre trek to the temple offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas!
Perhaps better know as “The Beatles Ashram”, we will enjoy a visit to this historic site located in Rishikesh which has been beautifully restored to celebrate a magical time in 1968 when West and East came together in meditation.
Our comfortable journey from Rishikesh to Badrinath will take us through the amazing and ever changing Himalayan countryside, where every twist and turn of the road offers new sights and sounds - villages, mountains, cities, simple people, and Sadhus - as we make our way deeper and deeper into the spiritual depths of India.
It is difficult to describe the feeling of being in a place that has been completely immersed in spiritual practice, inhabited by saints, and visited by numberless seekers for more than 5,000 years. Badrinath is truly beyond imagination! Here, on the border of Tibet, nestled in Himalayan mountain abode of Narayana, we will meditate. We will walk with sadhus. We will meet with saints. We will become infused with the air, the sights, and the sounds of pure devotion, pure spiritual bliss. Badrinath is one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in all of India and you will understand why as you hear its ancient voice deep within.
We begin our day visit to this ancient waterfall from the wonderful artisan village of Mana, 2 kilometres beyond Badrinath, which is the last village in India! From there we begin the 5 kilometre hike to the falls which have been a pilgrimage destination for thousands of years and are even described in the Mahabharata! The hike is challenging, rising from 10,500 feet to over 11,000 feet on a beautiful stone path! But those who choose to make the pilgrimage walk and receive the blessing of the falls will not wonder why it has been a pilgrim’s sacred destination for more than 5,000 years!
Our pilgrimage would not be complete without a visit to our friend Swami Chidanand Saraswati “Muniji” at the Parmath Niketan ashram in Rishikesh for this world famous nightly devotional celebration on the banks of the Ganga. With fire and mantras and chanting, this is an incredibly moving experience and a perfect culmination of our sacred time together!
*Please Note: Itinerary will be finalized following the 2019 monsoon season.
